The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. The date and time for the ceremony have been updated due to a schedule change.
The $70.9 million project and 92,000-square foot building is located at 11701 Georgia Avenue. This is the first combined complex of its kind in Montgomery County. It will include a library, community recreation center, Friends of the Library used bookstore, a park, underground parking garage, and redesigned roadway.
The facility will open immediately after the ceremony.
