A free online event for a conversation about grieving what we have lost during the COVID-19 pandemic and finding ways to move forward will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10. The session is part of a series, “Wellness Community Events: Healing and Holding On—One Conversation at a Time for the Community,” which is focused on mental health and wellness issues affecting the community as the COVID-19 health crisis continues.
During the conversation participants will work together to review the different types of losses they have experienced during the COVID19 pandemic and they will use grief as a framework to better understand them. Participants will discuss strategies to manage stress and move forward.
The virtual meetings are held every other Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. The events are open to the public and no registration is required. The conversation can be joined on Teams Live at https://bit.ly/wellness-community-5 or it can be viewed live on the County’s cable station County Cable Montgomery (CCM), which is available on Comcast and RCN (Channels 6 and HD996) and Verizon (Channel 30). It also will be viewable from the County’s Facebook page.
Sarah Moore, a therapist with the Behavioral Health and Crisis Services Division of Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), will lead the conversation.
Access to Behavioral Health Services, part of DHHS’s Behavioral Health and Crisis Center area, provides assessment and linkages for residents of all ages who lack health insurance coverage and need help for mental health and/or substance abuse problems.
