Montgomery County High School Students Come in First in Global Robotics Competition in Mexico City
Five County school students from the Wizards.Exe robotics team represented the United States in the 2018 FIRST Global Challenge, which took place August 15-18 in Mexico City, Mexico. The team’s robot, “G-Wiz,” won the FIRST Global Challenge Silver Medal and the Gold Medal for the Zheng Hang Award for Engineering Design. The robot won all eight matches in which it participated.
In June, Councilmember Craig Rice honored the local team with a Council proclamation after they won the FIRST Tech Challenge Championship Inspire Award, recognizing excellence in robotic design, engineering and outreach to the community.
