The Downtown Silver Spring as free “Silver Spring Thursday Night Concerts” series will conclude on Thursday, Aug. 11, with the rock and roll sound of Gary and the Groove. The music will begin at 7 p.m.
Veterans Plaza is located at 1 Veterans Place, adjacent to the Silver Spring Civic Building.
Leader Gary Leigh Brown and his group of outstanding local musicians play good-time rock and roll from the '1950s, '60s, '70s and '80s, plus a few from the '90s up to the present. For summertime, it adds covers from Motown, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley and surf music.
Attendees can bring chairs, but they do not have to do that. Food and drinks are available from the many nearby downtown eateries. No alcohol is permitted on the plaza.
