This will be the first time the County will have seven district Councilmembers. Currently, there are five district Councilmembers. In non-partisan elections for the Montgomery County Board of Education, one at-large and three district races are on the ballot.
There is one County Charter amendment (Question A) for County voters to consider. Voters in the Damascus area only will vote on a question regarding alcohol licenses in that area.
Statewide, voters will choose among candidates for Governor/Lt. Governor, Comptroller, Attorney General, U.S. Senator and representatives in Congress.
The ballot will include races for Maryland State Senate and the State House of Delegates.
Voters will be asked their choices on five State constitutional amendments, including one regarding “Cannabis—Legalization of Adult Use and Possession.”
To register and vote on election day, go to the polling place assigned for your residence. Bring a document that proves where you live. The document can be your MVA-issued license, ID card or change of address card. Other valid proof of residence can include a paycheck, bank statement, utility bill or other government document with your name and address.

Vote-By-Mail ballots must be postmarked no later than Nov. 8. The oath on the postage-paid return envelope that arrives with the ballot must be signed.
Those who choose to return their Vote-By-Mail ballots using official election ballot drop boxes must deposit completed ballots by the final collection time of 8 p.m. on Nov. 8.
