Montgomery County Ranked Most Culturally Diverse and Named one of the Best Places to Live

Montgomery County continues to earn national rankings as one of the best places to live. In a recently released report, 24/7 Wall Street named Montgomery County as the 14th best county in the country based on three social measures — educational attainment, poverty rate and life expectancy.

Montgomery County’s rich cultural diversity has earned recognition for four of the County’s municipalities. A 2017 Wallethub study ranked Germantown as the nation’s second most culturally diverse city. Gaithersburg was ranked as the third, Silver Spring as the fourth and Rockville ranked ninth.

The Wallethub study compared 501 of the largest U.S. cities using three key metrics: racial and ethnic diversity, language diversity and U.S. region-of-birth diversity. The recent analysis highlights Montgomery County’s commitment to be a community which values and welcomes cultural differences and backgrounds.
