  1. Excellent presentation. Two questions: Why has mowing weeds in medians been neglected in recent years? And 2) how does my community get on a list to have its ragged roads re-paved?

  2. Thank you for your comment! If the road is a County maintained road, the County Highway Services division is responsible for the mowing. If it is a state road, Maryland Highway Services is responsible for the mowing. Once spring mowing season starts, if no one has mowed, send a request MC 311 or call 240-777-0311.
To get your road on the list or find out whether your road is scheduled, you can send a request to MC 311 or call 240-777-0311, with the road address. They will be able to tell you if the street is scheduled to be paved.
Here is a link to a map on the County website, which shows the schedule of planned pavement projects over the next couple of years: http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/dot-highway/roadmaint/index.html.
