An Age- Friendly Community Survey

If you're age 55+, we want to hear from you!

Please click on this survey to offer your thoughts and ideas about Montgomery County as a place to live and retire. And, if you know others who might like to provide their thoughts, feel free to forward this link to friends, family, and others in your community.

Results of the survey will be used to plan the upcoming County Executive's Summit on Aging in Montgomery County, which will focus on ways to make Montgomery County an even better "community for a lifetime."

  1. Great that you did this survey. This county needs to improve the quality of life, which is decreasing due to gridlock, over-development and proliferation of illegal signs along road right of ways and median strips. Also need to greatly enhance friendliness of sidewalks, crosswalks and paths for bicyclists and pedestrians, including bike lanes on roads that are separated from traffic. Need to enhance public transportation, get people out of their cars, and provide more "traffic calming" roundabouts and road narrowings, to enhance safety of all, especially pedestrians. Increase safety at construction sites. Stop rampant over-development and commercialization. Need much more sensible land use policies that focus on open space, parks and beautification and alternative transportation like biking and walking.

  2. I agree with the above comment, I would add that these problems are multiplied by the disabled elderly. Specifically, we need more handicapped designated street parking and safe access to the new library/.
Build the LIBRARY BRIDGE. It will;be years, or never, until Downtown Silver Spring will be
user friendly to seniors and/or the handicapped
