New ‘Reimagining Public Safety’ Dashboard Now Available

A new dashboard that allows residents to view the progress of the “Reimagining Public Safety Initiative” is now available. The dashboard advances County Executive Marc Elrich’s commitment for transparency and accountability.

“Reimagining Public Safety is not a buzz phrase and residents deserve to know how the County is moving forward with actionable steps to make their communities safer for all,” said County Executive Elrich. "The dashboard shows the implementation process of many reform actions, and we look forward to continue sharing our progress with the County as they are happening.”

Initial work for this dashboard was led by a team from Carnegie Mellon’s Policy Innovation Lab, in partnership with Montgomery County’s Innovation Team. It is now being maintained by CountyStat. The Reimagining Public Safety Dashboard is tracking about 280 actionable items that are detailed in:
  • The Reimagining Public Safety Task Force Recommendations
  • The Maryland State Police Accountability Act of 2021
  • The Montgomery County Police Department Audit Recommendations
By using the Reimagining Public Safety Dashboard, residents can view, sort and download data. Residents may also submit comments and feedback through the dashboard.
