Piedmont Local Park Opens in Clarksburg

Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, has opened Piedmont Woods Local Park in Clarksburg. The 65-acre park provides opportunities for recreation, social gatherings and contemplative reflection.

Piedmont Woods Local Park is located at 12835 Snowden Farm Parkway in Clarksburg.

The park represents a partnership between Montgomery Parks and the site developer, Elm Street Development, which managed the construction of the park. Montgomery Parks will oversee the park operations and maintenance.

Piedmont Woods Local Park is part of the site plan for the Clarksburg Town Center.

The park features a variety of amenities including:
  • A playground
  • Two picnic shelters
  • A dog park with shaded seating
  • Two tennis courts that are also striped for pickleball
  • A basketball court
  • Paved and natural surface trails
  • 46 parking spaces
“This new park is a win-win for everyone involved,” said Michael Riley, director of Montgomery Parks. “The developer is providing active public space for residents to enjoy, and the parks department has added a new park with needed amenities, including athletic facilities and a dog park, to its inventory.”
