Fourth Annual Children’s Business Fair in Rockville on Aug. 10 Will Ignite Entrepreneurial Spirit of Today’s Youth

Young Montgomery County entrepreneurs will again have a chance to show their creativity, business sense and sales ability by developing and displaying products for the Fourth Annual Montgomery County Children's Business Fair that will be held on Aug. 10 in Rockville Town Square. The event is open to youngsters ages 6-15.

Applications to be part of the event are due by Saturday, June 15. Applications and more information about the event can be found at www.mocochildrensbusinessfair.org. A $25 fee is required for accepted entries.

The event in Rockville Town Square is free to attend.

During the fair, the young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to win cash awards in the following categories:
  • Innovative idea
  • Best presentation
  • Best sales pitch
A panel of judges that will include representatives of the local business community and celebrity influencers will assess the presentations.

Participants are responsible for the setup, sales and interacting with customers. Parents are restricted from interacting with customers. If seen selling to customers or promoting the child’s product, the participant will be disqualified from the competition. The goal is to give the participants real world business experience.

“Today’s youth are tomorrow’s business innovators and leaders,” said Tameka Montgomery, founder of Raising Entrepreneurs Podcast and the Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair. “The Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair ignites their entrepreneurial spirit and gives them a head start on cultivating the skills and mindset to be the next generation of changemakers.”
