Biomechanics and physics have a long history in the scientific discovery and investigation of human movement. The Rockville Science Café at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, will present the lecture “From Hollywood to Hospitals: How 3D Motion Capture is Transforming Pediatric Orthopedic Care” exploring the technology and study of human biomechanics: past, present and future.
Kirsten Tulchin-Francis will lead the lecture, which will specifically address current clinical and research applications and illustrate how 3D motion capture is used in the treatment of pediatric and adolescent movement disorders and sports medicine injuries.
Dr. Tulchin-Francis studies how surgery and other treatment options improve the function and lives of young patients. She holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in biomedical engineering and a PhD in Kinesiology- Biomechanics.
Register to join the lecture by going to Meeting Registration - Zoom.
