The free forum will be hosted by civil rights attorney and artist Madeline Caliendo. The invited panelists include Andargé Asfaw, Jannelle Cortes, Debbie Linn, Sharon Lee Minor, Shruthi Mukund, Sehar Peerzada and Rigel Wolf-Hubbard.

Background on some of the panelists:
- Andargé Asfaw is an award-winning commercial and fine arts photographer. His powerful portraits and luminous landscapes have been exhibited in several exhibitions and are held in private collections. Andargé’s work appears in national and international publications. His photography book “Ethiopia from the Heart” was released in June of 2007. Andargé maintains a photography studio in Silver Spring and is a graduate of the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turner Falls, Mass.
- Jannelle Cortes is a Dominican-American choreographer and entrepreneur who has been a contributing member of the Washington, D.C., and New York City dance, education and health communities for 20 years. In 2001, Jannelle founded Groovefit, a dance and fitness company that promotes cross-cultural unity and wellness accessibility. As a certified Minority/Women Business Enterprise in New York, Groovefit has had the privilege of providing dance, mediation, yoga and mental health services to public schools, churches, and hospitals. For the past six years, Jannelle has been expanding Groovefit’s operations to include travel.
- Debbie Linn in 2016 decided to live her long-time dream of living overseas. Now retired and living in Medellin, Colombia, Debbie is enjoying a perfect climate, friendly people, cheap cost of living and all the beautiful places Colombia has to offer.
- Sharon Lee Minor is the founder and owner of A Minor Enterprise. She is a visual/performance artist who synthesizes art and anthropology into her visual and performance artworks. Local exhibitions include the annual Miniature Painters, Sculptors, & Gravers Society of D.C. (Strathmore Mansion); the “Art ‘n” Soul” exhibit (National Center for Children and Families/Silver Spring Civic Building); Brookside Gardens and the Sandy Spring Museum (Olney Arts Association). Sharon continues to expand her artistic skills by producing films, videos, books and audio recordings.
