The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with The Peterson Companies and rio, will host its 21st St. Patrick's Day Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 11. Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will be joining the line of march. Following the parade, there will be festive live music, specials and family fun throughout the rio lakefront.
The parade will meander down Grand Corner Avenue at rio, which is located near I-370 and Washingtonian Boulevard. Free parking is available in three garages along Washingtonian Boulevard.
Dozens of units will march in the parade, including Celtic dancers, bagpipe bands, school groups, fire trucks, equestrian units, service organizations and characters. Sally and Tom Marchessault, longtime Gaithersburg volunteers, will serve as the grand marshals.
