Americorps, which has been helping recent high school graduates build confidence and skills to advance to their next steps in life, is seeking to recruit recent graduates who are wondering about their future. As part of “Project Change,” Americorps volunteers would be placed in a variety of positions, earning stipends for their work.
Americorps arranges positions for the volunteers, who also attend sessions to improve many aspects of life skills. Past positions have included volunteering in classrooms to assist teachers, working in after-school programs and work in pre-schools. Some years, there are opportunities for Spanish-speaking volunteers to work in elementary settings.
Applications are now being accepted for positions that will be filled soon.
Project Change is the original AmeriCorps program that, for more than 20 years, has been serving Montgomery County students.
