Legendary Blues and Roots Band ‘The Nighthawks’ Will Headline Final Free Parks Playhouse Series Event of Summer


The legendary blues band The Nighthawks will headline the final week of free summer events sponsored by Montgomery Parks. Its Parks Playhouse series will conclude with The Nighthawks playing from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, at Cabin John Regional Park in Bethesda.

“It’s been a great season filled with over 30 performances this summer between Parks Playhouse and Parks Playhouse Junior,” said Michael Coppersmith, director of Montgomery Parks Activation Program. “We are excited to close out the summer season with The Nighthawks before heading into fall.”

The concert with The Nighthawks will be one of four final week performances at the Cabin John Regional Park Amphitheater, which is located at 7400 Tuckerman Lane in Bethesda. The scheduled lineup includes:
  • Tuesday, Aug. 15, 6-7 p.m. Kids’ concert with 1, 2, 3 Andrés.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 16. 6-8 p.m. Concert with Dueling Pianos.
  • Thursday, Aug. 17. 6-8:30 p.m. Back-to-School Comedy Show with Improbable Comedy. (NOTE: This event is for mature audiences, ages 17 and older. ASL interpretation provided).
  • Friday, Aug. 18. 6-8 p.m. Concert with The Nighthawks.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase Wednesday through Friday
