Four food distribution events are scheduled in Montgomery for Friday-Saturday, Jan. 29-30, to help individuals and families who continue to be impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis.
The following events are scheduled:
- Friday, Jan. 29. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Interfaith Works Twinbrook Food Distribution. 751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville. For more information, email hubcoordinator@iworksmc.org.
- Friday, Jan. 29. 1-3 p.m. Nourishing Bethesda Drive-Through Family Food Distribution. Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, 5020 Battery Lane, Bethesda. More information: 301-654-7767.
- Saturday, Jan. 30. Grab and Go: East County. 10 a.m.-noon. East County Community Recreation Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring.
- Saturday, Jan. 30. 10-11:30 a.m. Produce Distribution by Overflow City Church of Silver Spring, Blair High School, 51 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring. More information: 301-335-6152 or email outreach@overflowcitychurch.com.
Residents in need also can call the Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center at 240-777-4940 for information on food and other important needs. Staff who speak many languages are available to answer the phones Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Messages left will be returned within 24 to 48 hours.
