Participants Sought for 20th Annual Gaithersburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The City of Gaithersburg is seeking groups or organizations to participate in the 20th Annual Gaithersburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, following a route down Grand Corner Avenue at Rio, which is located near I-370 and Washingtonian Boulevard.

Community groups and other organizations based in Gaithersburg and from other areas are invited to march in the parade, which is sponsored by the City in partnership with The Peterson Companies and Rio.

Past participants have included Celtic dancers, bagpipe bands, school groups, clowns, fire trucks, equestrian units and service organizations. Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 health crisis, no participants will be allowed to hand out materials during this year’s parade.

Participants could be representatives of groups or organizations other than City of Gaithersburg officials, departments or committees that do not constitute City of Gaithersburg endorsements.

A participant application form is available on the City’s website at www.gaithersburgmd.gov. Vendors interested in participating in the parade should e-mail Laurie Yankowski at lyankowski@petersoncos.com.

Additional information can be obtained from the City of Gaithersburg Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture at 301-258-6350.
