Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection Announces New ‘Is This Recyclable?’ Video Series

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is launching a new video series to help residents understand how to recycle materials properly. DEP Director Adam Ortiz hosts the video series asking the question, “Is This Recyclable?”

Each one-minute video highlights one type of material and walks the viewer through what is and what isn’t recyclable and why. The six videos in this series will help residents understand how to recycle the following materials:
  • Aluminum
  • Batteries
  • Foam Packaging
  • Glass Bottles and Jars
  • Plastic Bags
  • Plastic Containers, Tubs and Lids
These fun and engaging videos are part of DEP’s Recycle Right campaign to encourage residents to reduce, reuse, and recycle to keep Montgomery County clean, green, and beautiful.

“We know most people want to do the right thing and recycle. But with so many different types of packaging and materials out there, understanding what is and what isn’t recyclable can be tricky,” said Director Ortiz. “We created these videos to help people understand the difference between what is and what isn’t recyclable.”

The videos will be shared on social media over the next few weeks. The videos can also be viewed on DEP’s YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMpbRgxtGnWLPdDlL-84Qu7j2fxm2c_Zd.
