‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Classic Movie Will Be Presented Free Outdoors on Friday, Oct. 7, at Northwest Branch Recreational Park

A screening of the 1970s cult classic, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” will be presented free outdoors by Montgomery Parks starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, at Northwest Branch Recreational Park.

“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is intended for mature audiences, ages 17 and older. Viewer discretion is advised.

“Montgomery Parks is excited to be bringing the screening for all Rocky generations to enjoy,” said Jordan Crumback, a Montgomery Parks activation specialist. “This will be a fun and memorable introduction to the phenomenon that is Rocky Horror for those that have yet to experience it.”

The audience can begin arriving at 6 p.m. with blankets and chairs to get a spot on the lawn. Food and beer concessions will be available for purchase from Liquidity Aleworks, Catalyst Hot Dogs and O’Boy Pizza & Ice Cream before and during the show.

Shadow cast company, Bloody Mayhem, will take the stage at dusk to introduce the screening and perform scenes along with the film. Montgomery Parks will provide a limited number of prop bags available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and will include the following items:
  • Rice
  • Newspaper
  • Squirt bottle
  • Flashlight
  • Rubber glove (non-latex)
  • Noisemaker
  • Confetti
  • Party hats
  • Hand bell
  • Playing cards
To protect the integrity of the park’s ecosystem, audience members are asked not to bring toast or toilet paper to the show.
