A virtual community meeting about proposed improvements to Sligo Creek Trail adjacent to Colt Terrace Neighborhood Park in Wheaton will be held by Montgomery Parks from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26. Planned improvements include a new hard surface trail connector, removal of an existing dirt path near neighboring homes and stormwater management.
The project will also remove a portion of the existing trail to restore sensitive mature upland forest and wetland habitats to a natural condition.
Colt Terrace Neighborhood Park is located at 11400 Colt Terrace in Wheaton. It is 3.31 acres and features a playground, and picnic area. It is adjacent to an open space for recreation. The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission acquired the park in 1954.
