Children’s Summer Concert Free Series Finale in Olde Towne Gaithersburg Will Feature ‘The Rainbow Rock Band’ on Wednesday, July 27


The Gaithersburg Children’s Summer Concert Series will conclude at the City Hall Concert Pavilion with a free performance from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, featuring the music of The Rainbow Rock Band.

The concert pavilion is located at 31 South Summit Ave. in Gaithersburg.    

The Rainbow Rock Band, whose entertainment is geared toward children 7 and under, was the winner of a Parents' Choice Fun Stuff Award for its debut CD, "Meet the Rainbow," and of a 2018 Family Choice Award for its newest release, "Total Eclipse of the Rainbow."  The band provides a mix of musical genres including folk, pop rock and rockabilly, all while being educational. Children will learn about shapes, colors and movement. The band encourages all rainbow rockers to participate in the show.

The Rainbow Rock Band performs as a duo, trio or full five-piece band, depending on the event. Band members include the Rainbow Lady (Kate Moran), the Rockin Pupstar (Brendan Biondi), Prince Pop & Walk (Ryan Walker), Captain Toe Tappin (Kevin de Souza), Bassious Berry (Matt Berry) and Princess Fiddlesticks (Lynn Rovelli).

Parking in Olde Towne is free. Limited spaces are available at City Hall, the upper parking lot by Wells/Robertson House and at the Community Museum across the train tracks. Limited free parking is also available in the Parking Garage located across Summit Avenue at 112 Olde Towne Ave. A list of additional short-term parking locations in Olde Towne can be found here.
