Residents will have an opportunity to offer input on a park improvement project to update and improve Long Branch-Garland Neighborhood Park, a 3.8-acre park located at 8601 Garland Avenue in Silver Spring. Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, will begin the public input process with an online community meeting, hosted in English with Spanish interpretation, from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
The goals of the improvement project include updating the aging playground, improving amenities and supporting better connections across Long Branch Stream Valley and Trail.
Parks staff will present preliminary concept plans at the online meeting.
Residents will have the opportunity to submit suggestions and offer feedback about the proposed improvements during the meeting. An online comment forum also will be available for 30 days following the meeting to collect additional input.
